Proprietary Plating Technology

NuTek Industries specializes in abrasive bonding for surface prep, grinding and cutting accessories, with a full range of abrasive adhesions including, but not limited to Diamond, CBN, and Carbide.

NuTek offers expert capabilities to develop high performance solutions, with a specialized advantage in Nanodiamond Technology.

There are three main advantages to the NuTek process overall:

  1. We maximize diamond exposure for faster cutting
  2. We utilize a unique radial profile for broader surface area on the cutting edge of the blade for more diamond exposure, and for a longer lifespan of the product
  3. We use a low temperature process to best maintain the integrity of the diamond

Our Superior Diamond Plating

Maximized Diamond Exposure

Our unique ambient temperature diamond plating process, along with our use of nanodiamond technology, allows for optimal performance of the stone to ensure superior results.

Our competitors tend to overcompensate with excessive amounts of nickel to secure their diamonds in place and use metal bonding, which ends up coating the diamonds, burying and covering many of their diamonds, decreasing the surface area of exposed diamond, and diminishing the quality of the abrasive.
We strategically place our diamonds with care in order to avoid just this. Instead, we use precise plating techniques in order to maximize diamond exposure while securing an indestructible bond.

Our Nanodiamond Process Versus the Competition

Strategic Diamond Placement to Utilize Surface Area

We radius the cutting surface in order to maximize the amount of diamond and cutting surface, creating longer life and faster cutting. By strategically placing our diamonds and broadly utilizing surface area, we allow for the most efficient use of all surfaces of the blade. Our competitors limit their diamond placement to only the outer edges or corners of the blade, leading to faster degradation of the diamonds and essentially, a shorter life span of the blade.

Technology chart

Our competitors use a reduced surface area along with high temperatures during plating/brazing that degrade the quality of the diamonds and make them brittle, producing low quality and inferior performance products.

With our unique expertise in plating and brazing we secure our diamonds in place for an efficient cut with an exceptional life span, while our low temperature diamond bonding process maximizes the quality and life of the product.

Why Nanodiamonds?

Nanodiamonds provide stronger adhesion

Nanodiamonds are microscopic in size, and coat in an efficient and effective way that improves the overall adhesion of the diamonds to the nickel base. Not only does the compactness of these nanodiamonds ensure a stronger adhesion, but it also allows for more diamond exposure and maximizes secure diamond placement on the entire surface of the accessory. This means maximized cutting performance at the cutting edge.

Nanodiamonds have unique heat-dispersion properties

Because of their microscopic size, nanodiamonds disperse and expel heat more effectively than typical diamond plates, allowing for little to no heat dispersion directly following use, creating significantly safer and more comfortable usage and handling.

Nanodiamonds provide lubrication during cutting (like graphite)

Due to their microscopic size, Nanodiamonds act as a lubricant by reducing friction between the cutting diamonds and the work surface. This technology is currently utilized in high performance engine parts to reduce wear and improve performance in both automotive and aerospace industries; but we are the first to bring this technology to our industry.
